Registered Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce, and individuals can obtain paid work experience, classroom instruction, and a portable, nationally recognized credential. States are critical leaders in apprenticeship expansion—increasingly recognizing apprenticeship as an effective strategy for meeting the needs of businesses, keeping up with a rapidly changing economy, building a skilled workforce, and accelerating growth that leads to economic opportunity for workers and families.
With the support of U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Apprenticeship (OA) State Apprenticeship Expansion Grants, states are raising awareness of apprenticeship; embedding apprenticeship into education, economic development, and workforce development systems; increasing diversity among apprentices; and growing apprenticeship across industry sectors.
This State Apprenticeship Grants Community is the go-to source for State Apprenticeship Expansion grantees to find all things related to your grant funding, such as resources shared by your peers, promising grant practices, policies and reporting requirements, and technical assistance and training designed to help you achieve your grant goals. This Community supports recipients of the following DOL State Apprenticeship Grants:
While this Community focuses on grant-specific information, you can find general apprenticeship expansion information, tools, and resources on our sister Apprenticeship Community—such as how to effectively engage employers or how improve recruitment and supportive services so that the opportunity of apprenticeship is available to diverse and historically underrepresented populations. We encourage all State Apprenticeship Grantees to join both Communities today!
