As apprenticeship moves into fields with fewer strict physical demands, such as construction or assembly line work, opportunities for individuals with disabilities are growing.

Even those fields that have traditionally used apprenticeship are becoming options for individuals with disabilities as the use of technology over manual labor becomes more prevalent.  Several programs exist that encourage hiring individuals with disabilities into apprenticeship programs.
